Telehealth Video Visit

Our telemedicine visits use live video and sound through our EMR software, Athena Health. We have taken every step possible to make sure these visits are private, safe, and secure.

You are eligible for a Telehealth visit if:

  • You would like a consult on an issue that does not require a physical exam.
  • You are able to read and agree to terms in the NWWC Telehealth Consent form.
  • You have working camera on a mobile device, tablet, or computer so we can see you, and you can see us in order to maintain two-way visual contact

How to Prepare and Tips for a Successful Video Visit:

  • Make sure you have a text message link or an email link from our EMR system, Athena Health. You may need to check your junk/spam folder.
  • If you have not already done so, please review the NWWC Telehealth consent form available here.
  • Before your scheduled visit time make sure you enable audio and video in your device settings.
  • Find a quiet, private space for your visit that has good lighting so your provider can see you. Visits usually last 15-30 minutes.
  • To ensure your privacy, turn off any smart speaker on home devices that you may have enabled (such as Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Nest, etc.)
  • Know how to mute and un-mute your device in case you need to eliminate background noise.
  • When it’s time for your visit, follow the instructions in the link you received by email, or follow the link on your smart phone. Your provider will join you shortly. Please be patient if they are running behind. If you are not joined by your healthcare provider in 15 minutes, please call our office at 503-416-9922.
  • If you are unable to join your meeting or are running late, we are happy to reschedule to a more convenient time.  Please just call our office at 503-416-9922 to speak with a receptionist.

Risks of Telehealth Visits

  • Use of videoconferencing technology means the visit will not be the same as an in-person meeting
  • There are potential risks of interruptions, technical problems, and unauthorized access
  • You are free to discontinue the video visit if you or your provider feel it is not adequate for your situation
